Seems like both James and I had remarkable days on MARTA. It’s been months since I’ve used MARTA. I took MARTA from work to meet some friends for dinner in Buckhead tonight. Car is at the garage.
At the bus stop this dude loudly critiqued all the drivers. “Why is your blinker on? You’ve got a whole lane?!” “Go, the lane is clear! What are you waiting for?!” “Look every single one of these cars is breaking the law, they’re supposed to stop on that white line! Look every single one is going past that white line!”
He was passionate about it. He believed in his cause. I almost answered his questions but opted out of entering into his world of vociferous traffic commentary. I hoped each pair of lights coming over the hill was the 139. Fortunately I only waited for a few minutes.
I got to Lenox Station hoping the 110 was waiting. Scheduled to leave at 6:20 we pulled in at 6:22 and the 110 was there. The bus LED was out and a handwritten sign on an 8.5×11 piece of paper was taped to the front and side windows. I ask the driver if I can add some money to my Breeze card and he says I have to do that on the machine. The driver on the 139 said the same thing. I ask the 110 driver if he’ll wait for me. He says yes and I walk across to the machine and quickly add some money.
I get back on the bus and the card doesn’t read. The driver doesn’t care. The card didn’t read on the 139 either. So I rode MARTA for free tonight. That makes up for the ride I got double charged for earlier this year.
